San Clemente Pier Bike Rack Area Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to Celebrate Renovation
The City of San Clemente is proud to announce a ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly redesigned bike rack area at the San Clemente Pier. The event will take place on Saturday, February 22, at 10 a.m. The public is invited to join local officials and community leaders as they celebrate the completion of this exciting project that enhances both the functionality and aesthetic of one of San Clemente’s most iconic locations.
The renovation includes ocean-themed bike racks and an expanded bike parking area, now providing space for up to 56 bicycles, a significant increase from the previous capacity of just 17 spaces. The project also includes important upgrades to the San Clemente Police Services Retired Senior Volunteer Program (PACT) House, creating a more welcoming and efficient space for volunteers serving the community.
In addition to the bike parking improvements, the project incorporates new landscaping that complements the San Clemente Coastal Trail plant palette, further enhancing the area’s natural beauty. These improvements are a part of the city’s ongoing commitment to enhancing public spaces, supporting eco-friendly transportation, and maintaining the area’s coastal charm.
The redesign of the bike rack area was made possible with funding support from the PierPride Foundation, the City’s dedicated partner in this effort and many municipal pier enhancement and restoration projects.
