Rainbow Sandals founder Jay “Sparky” Longley will be honored by the San Clemente Historical Society

Rainbow Sandals founder Jay ?Sparky? Longley will be honored by the San Clemente Historical Society for his many years of civic support. The dedication of an historic tile mural at 143 Avenida Del Mar will take place at 9AM, Monday, November 15, 2021.The public is welcome to attend.
 
Longley sponsored the decorative mural with a $10,000 contribution from his Rainbow Sandals Foundation last December.  The tile program at the rest areas along Avenida Del Mar is a coordinated effort of the Historical Society, City of San Clemente and the Downtown Business Association to memorialize historic structures from the town?s past.
 
The tile sponsored by Longley depicts the Ole Hanson Beach Club. It is one of 14 tile murals planned for the Landmarks on Del Mar project.  Rainbow Sandals has been a premier San Clemente business since shortly after its founding in 1974.
