About Us
Orange Theory Fitness is a unique and dynamic workout experience that blends cardio, strength training, and high-intensity interval training (HIIT) into one energizing session. Imagine a vibrant, music-filled studio with rows of treadmills, rowing machines, and strength training equipment, where participants are guided through a series of heart-pumping exercises by certified coaches.
The cornerstone of Orange Theory Fitness is their scientifically-designed workout formula, which is based on the concept of Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (EPOC). This means that during the workout, participants strive to reach and maintain a target heart rate zone, known as the "orange zone," for a certain amount of time. This pushes the body to continue burning calories even after the workout is over, leading to increased metabolic rate and fat loss.
Each class is structured around this concept, typically lasting around 60 minutes. Participants rotate between intervals of cardiovascular exercise, such as running, rowing, or cycling, and strength training exercises using body weight, free weights, and resistance bands. The workouts are scalable to accommodate all fitness levels, with coaches providing modifications and encouragement throughout the session.
What sets Orange Theory Fitness apart is its focus on real-time monitoring and performance tracking. Each participant wears a heart rate monitor that displays their heart rate and effort level on large screens throughout the studio, allowing them to gauge their intensity and adjust accordingly. At the end of the class, participants receive a summary of their performance, including calories burned and time spent in each heart rate zone, providing valuable feedback and motivation for improvement.
