About Us

My name is Sarah-Kate Boylan CEO and Founder of Lily’s Lighthouse. We're a family-led, 501(c)(3) qualified non-profit based out of San Clemente, Southern California with a drive to bridge the gap between traditional and nontraditional treatments for epilepsy. Our mission is to fund research into innovative treatment for epilepsy and to offer holistic therapies for children living with epilepsy.

Our vision is to improve the quality of life for those living with epilepsy through funding research into innovative treatments and holistic therapies that assist with seizure-control and provide other health benefits. Our vision is to give families better choices into treatment options for their children and to help them improve in areas such as cognitive, physical and speech through a non-traditional therapeutic environment.
Why did we start Lily's Lighthouse? Because approximately 40,000 people in Orange County suffer from epilepsy. 1/3 of those diagnosed with epilepsy live with uncontrollable seizures with no treatment available. This is called "intractable epilepsy." We found a natural treatment for Lily's intractable epilepsy that has given her significant and sustained seizure control.

During my career I was trained as an Intelligence Analyst and spent 12 years with the Australian Government my last post being the Australian Customs Border Protection Liaison Officer Americas Washington, DC. When my daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy at 5 weeks of age. I spent every spare time researching for answers and a treatment to end her seizures. 8 Years later and 4 months of heavy research into medicinal mushrooms Lions mane and Reishi we found our answer. Lily suffered from multiple seizures a day since she was 5 weeks old up too 50 a day. The mushrooms have given her significant seizure control. Right now she is having one seizure every couple of months and is on ½ the dose of pharmaceuticals.
