SUMMARY:Fiesta Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:San Clemente Chamber of Commerce Fiesta Music Festival Update!\n June 5\, 2020\n\n \n\nThis letter serves to notify you that the annual San Clemente Fiesta & Music Festival\, which was scheduled to take place on August 9th is being postponed due to current Covid-19 restrictions on large group gatherings. It is our intention to reschedule this event in early October and we are presently coordinating with the City to pursue an October date\; however\, there is still the chance that the Fiesta may have to be cancelled altogether for 2020.\n\n \n\nAs you are aware\, the California Governor has been issuing guidelines for the reopening of community businesses\, restaurants\, and other local community activities. Because it draws a large group of people\, the Fiesta & Music Festival is considered a Phase IV type event. While we are hopeful that Phase IV activities will be approved and guidelines issued in sufficient time to plan and hold this event in early October\, there's still the potential that this may not occur.\n\n \n\nThe City and Chamber of Commerce have agreed that if approval of Phase IV activities and guidelines are not received by mid-July\, which would allow sufficient time for the coordination of all Fiesta & Music Festival planning actions\, this event WILL NOT be held in 2020. In the meantime\, the Chamber of Commerce will be taking the following actions:\n\n \n\n	The Chamber website will be updated to reflect this most recent position regarding the 2020 Fiesta & Music Festival\, indicating our intention to reschedule this event in October and updating the new deadline dates for interested parties and non-profit organizations to sign-up for participation.\n	For those 2020 Fiesta participants who have already signed-up and paid in advance for the original August 9th date\, the Chamber will be returning your advance-paid funds within the next 2-weeks.\n	For those 2020 Fiesta Sponsors who have previously committed sponsorship funds to support the original August 9th date\, the Chamber will be contacting each individual sponsor organization to solicit your desired intention regarding the status of these funds.\n\n \n\nIf the Fiesta & Music Festival does\, in fact\, get rescheduled and approved for an October date\, it will likely be modified to additionally incorporate the Chamber's annual "Sea Fest" activity which has also historically been scheduled in October. Should that be the case\, we will re-brand this event to some extent to showcase the attributes of both longtime community events.\n\n \n\nIn closing\, the Chamber of Commerce's best advice at this time is simply to suggest that potential Fiesta & Music Festival participants and other interested parties continue to monitor the Chamber's website. That's where you can find the most current and up-to-date information on the status of this event's occurrence in 2020. Should you have any additional questions or concerns\, please don't hesitate to contact the Chamber office at (949) 492-1131.\n\nWe thank you for your continued interest in\, and support of\, this great community event.\n\n \n\nIn health and community\,\n\n \n\nBURTON BROWN\n\nChairman of the Board\n\n \nFor more information call the Chamber office at (949) 492-1131
